Poem written for a close friend who died -(morbid moment for the day)
your last
breath
countless
dreams died.
Holder of
court
jester to
all-
Ode to an Urban Cowboy
Extinguished in an instant…our light Poem written for a close friend who died -(morbid moment for the day)
with
but
a few chosen
few.
To those of
us beloved
you bestowed
a gift beyond description
in
the rare
uniqueness of you.
I dreamed of
seeing a traveler upon an open road
and recognized
the smile
your dreams
realized
painted your
countenance in peace.
Out of love
and our need
to have you near-
we held your
reins
within
clenched hands and prayer.
Your duty
now lies beyond
spoken word
or touch
but
still we
feel you.
A quiet echo
of
Pounding
hooves keeping time
within our
beating hearts.
